You woke up fighting

Roonie,

After anesthesia, everyone always wants to know how the patient responded.  "Did he wake up calm and sleepy?  Or, did he wake up fighting?"  Well, just so you know, you are in category two.  There is no doubt you were sleepy and groggy but you woke up ready to go.  (At least your mind was ready to go - your body just couldn't quite catch up fast enough for your liking.)

You had tubes put in both of your ears.  After enduring, oh I don't know, about a dozen ear infections over the last year, your dad and I decided you needed tubes.  Plus we were hoping it might reduce the decibel level with which you yell, err..., talk.  ;)

You were stellar.  We woke up early in the morning.  Dad stayed with Lines.  Pops came and met us at the surgery center.  I bribed you into extremely long-lasting good behavior (with no milk or food as an option) by getting you a huge 18 wheeler.  It totally worked!

The tubes are in.  You are now sound asleep after a rather cranky, grouchy day of recovery.  But, that is totally okay and to be expected.  You were such a brave brave little boy.  Very proud of you!

Here's to 95% reduction in ear infections - and hopefully a much better QOL for you my littlest guy!
